My husband, Sensei Eric, and I own and operate Bushido Karate Dojo and Fitness Center out of our home in Casco, Maine.

In the past 20 years I have studied multiple styles of martial arts: primarily Isshinryu and Kyokushin, as well as some Aikido, Kung Fu, Tai Chi and Tae Kwon Do. I have spent over 15,000 hours in the dojo, and at least another 5,000 as a coach or fitness instructor for various work outs such as: Step Aerobics, Pilates, Kick Boxing, Zumba, Boot Camp, Personal Training and Biggest Loser Fitness Challenges.

I believe that:
~ Effort is more important than ability.
~ Great teachers do not ask the question, "What am I going to teach today?"
~ Great teachers ask, "What do my students need of me today?"
~ Anyone who wants to do karate should be able to, regardless of their financial situation.
~ The greatest gift you can give your instructor is to practice what they have taught you.

I love to teach. I hope you love to learn.
If you subscribe to the Renshi Lisa Blog or the Renshi Lisa YouTube Channel I will endeavor to respectfully share everything I have learned on my journey in the hopes that it will enrich yours.
